Seattle

When we lived in Seattle there was a wonderful Conservatory of Plants in a green house that was open to the public that I visited quite regularly. It had beautiful man-made ponds and a cacti-succulent section. This would be in the Capitol Hill neighborhood.

The Keys

Yesterday I watered the container and in-ground gardens due to the extreme sunlight. There was a lack of clouds. I did chop onions and bell peppers in preperation of my partner making shrimp e-touffee. We didn't have much shrimp so he extended it with tofu. I watched talking heads earn their paychecks with the Obama Healtch Care law and drank a Zinfendel. Tomorrow we will go to Florida.

I hear driving through the Keys is slow progress due to the narrow road. We will be in Fort Lauderdale, and, I am considering doing very little by the pool. We have gone through so much to get there, that I am hesitant to leave. And we only have two days. I will be sure to pack sun-block; SPF something-or-another.

The more I hear about Florida, the more I think it is a wonderful place to live. I may be ready to dispell the internalized stereo-type. My partner suggested the possibility of snorkeling. I enjoyed it in Oahu. I remember years ago snorkeling on the Big Island and seeing the Sea Turtle who were not shy at all.

Houston

My sister Gina will be visiting (hopefully) us in Houston at the beginning of April. We plan on visiting the Museum of Natural History. I recently went to Oahu with my partner and we saw many beautiful beaches. We spent a couple of nights at Turtle Bay which is on the north of the Island. We drove along the windward coast. The hotels we stayed in were wonderful and we got free upgrades. We went snorkeling.

Florida

I was talking to my sister, Joanne on the phone this evening and she suggested I create a blog for the family where I could write about the travels of my partner and I. We have made plans for going to Fort Lauderdale, Florida March 25th through 28th. Unfortunately, Joanne has a conflict in her schedule and will not be able to socialize with us. Perhaps we can drive down to see the keys and visit my brother and his wife who have a boat.

We will be staying in the Villa Venice Resort for men in Fort Lauderdale and hopefully will have some free time to relax by the pool. I am sure it will be wonderful.
